RESPONSIBILITIES: Independent professional w/demonstrated skills & accomplishments in the reliability improvement & management of fixed & rotating equip. Champion of the Plants Process Safety Management (PSM) mechanical integrity program from an equipment reliability standpoint. Manage & optimize all predictive & preventive maintenance, programs & procedures for fixed & rotating equip. Coordinate & oversee: piping & equip, inspections according to AP1, ASME, NBIC, etc.; & the site>s QA/QC programs for new equip, construction & installation & maintenance stores spare parts. Resource to operations, maintenance & engineering for such items as: remaining life analysis of piping, pressure vessels & storage tanks; life cycle, cost analysis for equip.

Classical Project openings requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience handling projects in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Refining Industries. These projects will be from inception through completion. <>REFINING PROCESS ENGINEERS-

We have positions at all levels and salaries tend to go to about $110,000 on non-supervisory jobs. Some jobs need certain unit experience such as FCC, Hydrotreater, Sulfur Recovery, etc. All positions require a minimum of BSCHE, advanced degrees a plus.
<>ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL ENGINEER-
Openings in- TX, NJ, IL, MA, Japan, Netherlands and others.
Will design, test and commission advanced control and on-line optimization systems for hydrocarbon, chemical and polymer processing facilities. Requires experience in multivariable and model-based control and/or optimization combined with sound fundamental engineering knowledge of petroleum refining or chemical processes. A working knowledge of computers is a plus.
(Additional background information): * control room and process experience a must * experience in MPC, MVC in refining and/or chemical industries (refining, ethylene,aromatics, bulk and specialty chemicals, polymers) * application experience in plant testing; identification of dynamic models, and controller design/commissioning. Experience maintaining an application over a period of time is desirable. Prefer controller experience with larger scope controllers (i.e., 10 or more manipulated variables). * additionally, looking for candidates with significant experience in Inferential (e.g. with neural nets and/or PLS/PCA) * travel 35-40%--typical project lasts 9 months * PhD or MS in Chemical Engineering. Additional experience may substitute for education. * Sr level--10+ years experience....understands business needs, technology, can train lead engineers and deal with clients * Lead Engr--5-10 years experience, lead/execute projects; strong interpersonal skills
Successful candidates will have a BS, MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering and several years of related experience. Some travel to customer plant sites is required.

We have a client who is looking to fill 2 Senior Level positions with Engineers with a diverse Pulp & Paper background. The first is a position for a BSME in Baton Rouge, LA and the second is for a BSEE for Lufkin, TX. These Engineers will work for an Engineering Firm and these Engineers will be in these Mills for very, very long term assignments. It is possible that the Mill will absorb these Engineers, that the positions will last indefinitely, that the Engineers will be assigned to another Mill, or that these individuals will be promoted to Supervisory roles in one the Engineering Firms many offices. Salaries for these positions are to $90K++ and there is straight time overtime.

<>Environmental Compliance Coordinator- California
Major Oil Company- To High $90's
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supports operation of the Gasoline Blending operation at Los Angeles Refinery. The job includes staying current on California, Nevada, Arizona and Federal gasoline regulations. Functions include performing final compliance review and reporting for most gasoline manufactured at the refinery along with monitoring of finished gasoline qualities coordinated with the monitoring done by the Bulk Operations group. Recommends operating changes to optimize daily operation. Tracks and maintains the PACE gasoline database which is used for compliance. Develops, applies, and maintains many of the tools used for assuring on specification gasoline production. Job entails coordination both inside and outside of LAR including interface with outside agencies. Makes recommendations to eliminate problems and improve operations. Stays current on gasoline and distillate regulations. Also provides as a vacation relief backup for the gasoline scheduler.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required & Preferred Skills/Competencies and Experience Level Bachelor Degree in any field. (Engineering preferred). Minimum Five years (prefer ten plus years) experience in refinery operations and/or environmental related. A combination of refinery operations and environmental focus is preferred. Needs a working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets. Data analysis capability is highly preferred. Some background in linear programming is desirable. Ability to interface inside and outside of the refinery, including interface with regulatory agencies, is necessary.
Special Skills, Training, & Certifications Excellent Presentation skills are necessary. Presentations can be required both inside and outside of the plant. Presentations can be either technical in nature but also include management presentations in addition to technical presentations.
<>Air Environmental Engineer- Houston, TX- to $68,000
Candidates need to have 3-12 years of experience dealing with Air issues. This position will be dealing with Permitting and Compliance. It is especially a plus for candidates who have exposure to the Texas Air Regulations.
